Dark skies campaign to be launched to promote Northumberland

A marketing campaign to promote the beauty of the county will focus on Northumberland's stunning dark skies.

Northumberland Tourism’s forthcoming PR drive – Northumberland, the land that’s just as good with the lights off – will run from October 2016 to February 2017.

It will focus on the contrasts of day and night in Northumberland, including things to do, places to go and where to stay.

Northumberland International Dark Sky Park covers 572 square miles and is the largest in Europe, with pristine skies.

Research from the 2015 campaign showed that 61 per cent of respondents said they intended to take a holiday in Northumberland after seeing it.
