Dairy’s taste of the region

NORTH Northumberland cheese and ice cream will be among a variety of delicacies representing England at an international food and drink event.

Regional food group Taste North East is taking a number of the region’s speciality food producers including Doddington Dairy, based near Wooler, to the International Food and Drink Event (IFE11) at ExCel in London, which is the largest gathering of international food and drink suppliers in the UK.

From famous, big brand names to local producers, more than 1,100 exhibitors from around the world will showcase thousands of new products while visitors to the trade-only event will be able to attend free seminars and demonstrations by top chefs.

One of the highlights of the event, which runs from Sunday, March 13 to Wedensday, March 16, is the opportunity it gives to showcase regional food producers, many of which are small, artisan businesses producing unique, speciality foods.

We know the food produced in the region is world standard in every respect and this is the perfect opportunity to spread the word to the international food and drink industry.”
