Organisers of Alnwick Food Festival continue to cook up plans for this year’s event, announcing numerous street-food stalls which are on the menu.
The popular culinary showcase takes place on Saturday, September 17, and Sunday, September 18, and it is expected that around 25,000 visitors will pour into the town.
As part of the celebration of food and drink, organisers have lined up various street traders.
Those who have said they will attend are Monsieur Crepe; The Waffle Co; Northeast Chipstix; Blackforest Memories Motbf; Hogs and Chix; and Northumberland Sausage Company, to name but a few.
Organisers are also looking to serve up non-food-related offerings. A range of craft stalls will include photography prints of Northumberland from Snapper Photography; hand-painted glass designs by Art Studio of Glass; beautiful soft furnishings by Shades of Northumberland; and bespoke handcrafted wooden furniture by Olivers.
The food festival is being co-ordinated by Local Living, under the direction of a new management committee.
It did not take place last year – with the Taste of the North event plugging the gap – but organisers are delighted to put the food festival back on the menu this time round. The event’s return is sure to be welcomed, after creating a great reputation for itself, having launched in 2005.
The popular Alnwick Beer Festival, run by Alnwick and District Round Table, will be held over the course of the same weekend.

Two weeks ago, the Gazette teamed up with the food festival to run a competition to give away a £20 meal voucher for Mivesi restaurant, in Alnwick Market Place.
The winner was Rebecca Marsden, of Low Wood, Swarland.
