Woman suffers 'life-changing' injuries in Northumberland crash

Police have appealed for help after the woman was taken to hospital after the car in which she was traveling was came off the road and collided with a tree.
Officers have launched an investigation after the one-vehicle crash on the A1068 near Ellington, just north of Ashington, yesterday, Sunday, January 17.

Hide AdNorthumbria Police officers were alerted to the collision by the ambulance service shortly after 1am in which a black Skoda Fabia travelling southbound towards the roundabout with Front Street had come off the road.
The Skoda then hit a tree. A 20-year-old female passenger suffered a broken spine, as well as a broken ankle, foot, leg and wrist in the collision. She remains in hospital where her condition is today described as ‘stable’..
The male driver, 18, sustained minor injuries to his face and body.
Enquiries are ongoing to determine the circumstances surrounding the collision and police are now appealing for anyone with information to come forward.

Hide AdOfficers want to speak to anyone who was travelling near Ellington in the early hours of yesterday and who may have seen a black Skoda Fabia travelling in the area at that time.
They have also asked drivers to check any dashcam footage as they look to build a clearer picture of what caused the collision.
