An Amble woman has pleaded guilty to four counts of theft from local supermarkets.
Joanna Monteith, 40, of Leslie Drive, admitted taking foodstuffs from the Co-op on Queen Street on January 15 and grooming products four days later.
She also admitted stealing dairy products from Tesco on January 24 and nappies from Hadston’s Co-op on January 25.
South East Northumberland Magistrates’ Court heard that Monteith had a heroin addiction and she had sold the stolen goods.
Defending, Graham Crouth said Monteith had relapsed into her addiction having previously been ‘on top of it’.
The case was adjourned for pre-sentence reports and Monteith will next appear in three weeks’ time.
