Police search across Northumberland for man 'who knows he is wanted and is evading arrest'

Northumbria Police say efforts are ongoing to track down Mark Anthony Cairns, 42, who is wanted in connection with an alleged stalking offence.

A Northumbria Police statement read: “Police have carried out checks at various addresses across Hexham and Lynemouth and surrounding areas in a bid to locate Cairns, who knows he is wanted and is evading arrest.

“Detectives leading the search are now asking members of the public who may have seen him or know his whereabouts to get in touch.

“It is a criminal offence to harbour somebody who is evading arrest and officers do not want anyone to get in trouble on Cairns’ account.

“Anyone with information about his whereabouts is asked to call 101 quoting Mark Anthony Cairns or use log 864 12/01/21.

“Alternatively you can pass on any details to independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
