Police are appealing for information after a theft from a Stakeford pub.

The theft happened between 3.15am and 4.15am on May 16 at the Half Moon pub on Half Moon Street.

Alcohol, a charity tin for Save Our Soldiers, a cash box with £100 for Macmillan Cancer Support, and a pair of Nike trainers were stolen.

PC Bernie Donaghy, of Northumbria Police, said: “This is a shameless burglary that has seen those responsible stoop low enough to not only target a business the night before they can welcome customers back indoors, but also steal from two charities.

“We are appealing to the public to come forward if they recognise the people from the CCTV. We know it’s not the clearest picture but do hope the image is clear enough for someone to know who they are.”

Anyone with information should contact police on 101 quoting 310 160521.
