Northumberland woman to appear before judge after admitting to stealing £16,500 from employer

A Northumberland woman has appeared in court to admit defrauding her employer of over £16,000 in an 18-month scam.

Leanne Henderson, 32, of Bullers Green, Morpeth, took the money from Gateshead-based freight company Inter Global Forwarding, between April 2018 and October 2019.

The firm’s former finance officer admitted one count of fraud by abuse of position at South Tyneside Magistrates’ Court.

The court heard Henderson took £16,550.

Magistrates sent the case to Newcastle Crown Court for sentencing on Tuesday, November 3, and Henderson was granted unconditional bail.
