Man and woman arrested early hours fight in Northumberland street leaves three injured

Three people were left hurt and a man and woman were arrested after a double street fight.

Northumbria Police officers are searching for witnesses after the disturbance, which broke out in Woodhorn Road in Ashington at 12.05am on Sunday, July 12, when it was reported a small group of men and women were fighting outside the Station Lounge.

A short time later a further altercation occurred near to the Rohan Kanhai Wetherspoons pub.

A police spokesperson said: “The three people involved sustained minor injuries.

“An investigation has been launched and officers have arrested a woman, 20, on suspicion of assault and a man, also 20, on suspicion of dangerous driving.

“Both have since been released under investigation.

“As inquiries continue officers are now appealing for any witnesses to get in touch with police.”
