A Hadston man has admitted killing a man outside a pub in Newcastle city centre.

Sean Sillet, 21, of Bondicar Road in Hadston, appeared at Newcastle Crown Court yesterday afternoon, where he pleaded guilty to the manslaughter of Kenneth Brough.

Mr Brough, 65, received a blow to the head outside the Beehive pub in the Bigg Market on January 28 this year and died a week later in hospital.

The Recorder of Newcastle Crown Court told Sillet that probation reports were required prior to sentencing and he adjourned the case until Monday, July 7.

He said: “You will obviously remain in custody and I can tell you that you will receive appropriate credit for pleading guilty to this offence at this stage in the proceedings.”
