Burglars cause damage to Northumberland home during raid

Northumbria Police has launched an investigation following a burglary in the Ashington area – and the force is appealing for the public’s help.

The force was called shortly after 6pm on Saturday, January 25 to reports of a burglary at an address on Ashbourne Crescent in Ashington.

It is believed that those responsible for the burglary entered the property, after damaging a fence and the home’s French-style doors.

Police have confirmed that nothing of high value was stolen – but officers are keen to speak to anyone who may have seen anything suspicious in the area at the time or anyone who may have information that could help the police with the investigation.

It is believed that the burglary happened between 10am and 6pm on Saturday.
