Alnwick stabbing latest: Police plea for information about 'isolated incident'

Police have described a suspected stabbing attack as “an isolated incident” and urged the public to help their inquiries.

Police have described his wounds as “serious but not-life threatening” and confirmed that a 41-year-old man was still in custody on Wednesday afternoon after he was arrested in connection with the attack.

Neighbourhood Inspector John Swan, one of the investigating officers, described the assault as an “isolated incident” and added: “Our inquiries into the circumstances around the incident are ongoing and our officers remain in the area to carry out inquiries and reassure the community.
