Crews tackle fire in Rothbury

Firefighters were in Rothbury earlier today tackling a fire in a commercial premises in the village centre.

A Northumberland Fire and Rescue Service spokeswoman told the Gazette that they received a call to an incident at Turvey Westgarth on High Street at 12.17pm.

Three appliances attended - from Rothbury, Alnwick and Pegswood - and the crews extinguished a fire in the roof space of the building.

No persons were involved, added the spokeswoman.
