Crews called to tackle fire in Alnwick

Fire crews were called out to tackle a fire at an address in Alnwick this morning.

The incident happened in Windsor Gardens and a spokeswoman for Northumberland Fire and Rescue Service said that the fire started in an outhouse and spread to the windows and guttering.

She said that there were several calls from the public about the fire at around 11.10am and two appliances from Alnwick and one from Amble, as well as a station manager, were scrambled to the scene. She added that it took no longer than an hour to extinguish the flames and no people were involved in the incident.
