Students have participated in a field-study week, worked with local artist Katherine Renton, visited the cinema and had a meal at Frankie and Benny’s.

The pupils organised a family-fun afternoon for the local community and recently put on a talent show.

Tomorrow, an 11am service at St Mary’s Church will celebrate the life of the school.

Despite its imminent closure, the school has continued its good Ofsted rating and recently received some fantastic SATs results.

Headteacher Lysa Grieve said that it had been a pleasure working with such enthusiastic, positive and resilient staff and pupils and thanked parents and the community for its support.

The school will open its doors one last time for the Belford Arts Festival, on July 28 and 29, and featuring work by pupils and other local artists.
