Famous faces at WI
Members of Craster WI met in the Memorial Hall, at 7.15pm, and the meeting began with the signing of Jerusalem.
Our president Doris Clarke opened the meeting and handed over to our secretary Marion Gallon.
The group meeting was at Howick on September 16. Also on September 16, Pauline Brown arranged a coffee morning for Macmillan Cancer. A meeting at Craster Harbour was arranged on September 10 to celebrate 100 years of the WI. The theme continued in the Memorial Hall.
As a further celebration, we will meet at the Oaks Hotel, Alnwick, on September 30, at 6.30pm.
Our entertainment for the evening was by Jimmy Powell on famous faces. Marion Gallon gave the vote of thanks.
Winners of the raffle were Isabel, from Shilbottle, and Ann Mallen. The competition was and item beginning with ‘J’ and the winners were Ann Mallon, Sybil Dawson and Doris Clarke.
The next meeting on October 1, is ‘Cuts of meat’ by one of the staff of Turnbulls the Butchers. The competition letter begins with ‘K’.
