The secretary, Marion Gallon, made the following updates.

The carol service in Hexham Abbey in December. Transport will be by bus, organised by Mrs Wood.

There will be a collection of clothes in aid of the Great North Air Ambulance. The president, Rosemary Gibbs, will collect any clothing.

Members were informed that Christmas dinner will be on December 12.

The i newsletter cut through the noise

The Craster coffee morning would be in February 2017. An outing to Peebles will be in May.

Birthday flowers were presented to Sheila Dixon and Fiona Craster.

Our president then welcomed Fools Gold Acoustics – Stories with strings.

They reveal the stories that lie behind the songs, telling of the hidden histories, myths, characters and events that called them into being.

Our secretary, Marion Gallon gave the vote of thanks.

We had visitors from Lesbury, Boulmer and Longhoughton. We enjoyed a varied and tempting supper.

Our next meeting in November will be the annual meeting.
