We didn’t have a meeting in August, but eight members attended Longhoughton/Boulmer WI.

Rosemary welcomed Mrs Jan Brunt, of Beadnell, who kindly stepped in when our original speaker had to cancel.

Jan gave us a paper-folding craft session. She made it looks so easy, but after we got started, there were shouts of “help Jan”.

We had a wonderful night and we each went home with six small photo frames, all joined together in zig-zag. Thank you Jan and her friend Margaret.

The competition was for three roses in a small vase. Results: 1 Trish Flegg; 2 Ann Mallen; 3 Sybil Dawson. Raffle winners: 1 Helen Chamberlain; 2 Sybil Dawson.

Supper was served by Trish Flegg, Pauline Brown and Shirley Tucker. This concluded a very creative, happy and interesting evening.
