Volunteers were requested to help with the Craster clean-up community initiative, which takes place on April 21, at 10am.

Correspondence included invitationsfrom Brizlee WI and to partake in Longhoughton WIs centenary celebrations. Forthcoming events from county were summarised, including a Domino Drive at Stannington, and a visit to Northumberlandia. Jackie then presented birthday flowers to Pauline and Joi.

Jackie introduced Elspeth Horsfield for a talk and demonstration on Painting on Silk. She took up this creative hobby of painting on silk about five years ago and has now built up a successful business having produced approximately 600 silk scarves over this time period.

Elspeth explained the painting process and the different techniques and tools she uses to produce each unique scarf. Members were shown a wide variety of colourful scarves each with a different design and had the opportunity to purchase a scarf on the night.
