Craster WI, January meeting
The Craster WI meeting began by singing Jerusalem.
Our secretary included the following items on the agenda: The Christmas social, do we want a change of style? Clear up for the Queen, a general clear up in the village on March 5; to replace broken saucers; a table top sale, March 19 was suggested; and a calendar from Cornwall was eceived from Truro.
Birthday flowers went to Doris Clarke and Rosemary Gibbs.
Raffle prizes in future will be a voucher from a local shop. The winner was Doris Clarke.
The result in the January competition of a cup and saucer was: 1 P Brown; 2 M Hewitson; 3 P Jones.
The speaker for the evening was Moira Ging, whose presentation was entitled Royal Collection. While working for department stores as a buyer, she went to the USA to work while new friends suggested a vacancy with the Royal Collection.
This involved working in the outlets of Buckingham Palace, Windsor Castle and Holyrood Palace.
We enjoyed her talk very much. Joyce Shaw gave the vote of thanks.
