Shocked and speechless - this is how a former Amble man has described the surprise moment that he and his wife became the stars of a popular prime-time ITV television show.
Shaun Jobson, 34, and partner Natasha, 25, couldn’t quite believe it when they were pulled up on stage during Ant and Dec’s Saturday Night Takeaway at the weekend.
And unbeknown to the pair, from Westerhope, the celebrity duo had been following them for a long time, as part of the programme’s A Year in the Life feature.
Shocked Shaun said afterwards: “We had no idea. My sister-in-law Nicola Wakenshaw orchestrated it. We were massively shocked and never expected anything like it.”
The couple watched the surprise unfold through a series of short clips; discovering that Ant and Dec had been at their wedding in October, that former Pussycat Doll, Ashley Roberts, was dressed up as a Newcastle United mascot during Shaun’s birthday at St James’ Park in January, and Natasha had met The Only Way Is Essex star, Joey Essex, who was disguised as Santa Claus at the Metrocentre.
To top it all off, Shaun, Natasha and her family have been given a dream holiday to New York.
Shaun said: “We have had fantastic support and a lot of good wishes since the show. We want to thank family and friends for their support.”
