An application to build new houses in Amble has been deferred for a site visit.
The proposal is for outline permission for the construction of six detached homes and detached garages, and the demolition of redundant outbuildings, at land north of Gloster Hill.
The scheme has prompted a number of objections, including from Warkworth Parish Council and 12 residents, while Amble Town Council described it as being over-development of the site.
Those against the scheme raised issues relating to the loss of wetland, flooding and highways issues.
The application went before members of the county council’s planning and performance committee on December 22 and councillors voted five to four in favour of a site visit.
Coun Trevor Thorne said it would be helpful to see the site before making a decision.
