A brand new cookery school is set to open in Alnwick as an offshoot of a long-standing business.
Outcook is being run by Ben Keenan, who has taken over the running of Outlook Home Enhancement Centre, from his father Geoff.
The Gazette can exclusively reveal that the new school will open in February in space above the company’s premises on Bondgate Without. Outcook will be a home-from-home cookery school.
It will cater for the local communities as well as visitors with an affordable array of classes and something to suit everyone’s taste.
Ben, 35, said: “Outcook will be a relaxed, friendly, trendy and fun experience no matter how old or how experienced you are in the kitchen.
“Being a family man and a father of two young daughters, I value the importance of home cooking, healthy food and the use of local produce.
“We have so much great produce right here on our doorstep and I wanted to provide a social facility where people are able to come and learn different methods of cooking.
“Wherever possible we will be sourcing the ingredients and equipment locally and it is our aim to give people yet another great reason to visit Alnwick and Northumberland.
“We have put together the first 12 weeks of classes which range from cooking game to bread-making and fish dishes to sausage-making with Turnbull’s. There really is a class for everyone.”
Outcook is set to become a great social hub for those who want to learn more about cooking and further their skills.
And the facility can also be used as an alternative team building day for businesses along with private dining experiences and demonstrations.
As part of its opening deal Outcook is offering readers the chance to buy a day’s cookery experience, in one of its first 12 weeks, for a reduced price.
Readers will be able to get the offer for £89 which includes a full day in the kitchen.
Ben added: “It will make the perfect Christmas gift idea.”
