The roadworks, on the northbound side between Felton and Newton on the Moor, start on Monday, June 6, and are expected to take four weeks to complete.

Northbound traffic will run in contraflow on the southbound side for the duration of the work, which means that northbound traffic will not be able to turn left or right.

Traffic travelling southbound will be able to turn left onto and off the A1, but not right at any time.

This means that the Newton on the Moor north junction will be open for traffic to join the A1 to travel north, but the central reservation gap will be closed. The south junction will be closed.

The Swarland north and south junctions will be closed.

The Guyzance and Old Felton junctions on the opposite side will be open for traffic joining the A1 to travel south or for southbound traffic turning left to exit the A1.

All three Shilbottle junctions will operate as normal as will the Felton/Thirston junction.
