The county councillor for Rothbury is encouraging residents to respond to a planning application for almost 60 new homes.
It relates to the bid for 57 new properties, including 17 affordable homes, on land south of Lordenshaw Drive and Silverton Lane.
Writing on his Facebook page, Coun Steven Bridgett said: “If you have not already commented on this application, it may be worthwhile taking a look.
“The latest proposals from highways (which I am objecting to) will significantly extend the residential area of the village and result in significant alterations to the B6342, that would see larger vehicles being able to access it with limited speed restrictions. A road which, I might add, is in very close proximity to our middle school. Neither the middle school nor its governors have raised any objection to this.”
