Work to heighten the pier at Holy Island harbour should be completed, ahead of schedule, by late August.
Manager Helen Griffiths said: “The construction team from Lumsden and Carroll have really joined in with ‘Island life’ and I would like to thank them for their community spirit and hard work.”
The work will see improved access for boats onto the island during all high tides.
It is part of the Heritage Lottery-funded Peregrini Landscape Partnership Scheme, which aims to the make the area a better place to work, live and visit.
The Old Lifeboat House on the western shore of the island is also benefiting from the £1.8million project, with refurbishment to conserve and repair the building ongoing and plans to transform the former home of the Lizzie Porter lifeboat into a small museum.
