Higher education courses available at the college include access to HE diplomas in health or social science, PGCEs, HND in theatrical, media and special effects make-up and foundation degrees in arboriculture, animal management, equestrian performance and coaching.

Foundation degrees, PGCE and Cert Ed courses are offered in partnership with Newcastle University, University of Cumbria and University of Huddersfield.

HND study programmes at the college may be topped-up with additional study at university to achieve a full honours degree.

Northumberland College has almost doubled its higher education course provision compared to previous years, with 30 courses on offer for September 2016. It has also achieved record applications for its HE courses over the last two years and exceeded its enrolment target for the last academic year so advises early application for courses starting in September.
