The 28 foot coble White Heather, with three persons aboard, called Humber Coastguard after they lost steering and became stranded on the rocks.
Blyth’s new Atlantic 75 lifeboat was first on scene but could not get close enough to the vessel to establish a tow so the Blyth inshore lifeboat was also tasked.
Its shallow drfat enabled crew to get a tow rope onto the White Heather and both lifeboats were able to tow the boat off the rocks.
A lifeboat crewman was placed on the casaulty vessel to ensure the crew’s safety during the tow back to the River Blyth boating association’s moorings.
Blyth coastguards and the TVLB were also in attendance at the incident.
