The Coastguard currently has 12 vacancies in north Northumberland spread between its teams in Amble, Howick, Seahouses, Holy Island and Berwick.
Coastguard rescue officers are on call 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, and train one night per week plus the occasional weekend.
They are trained in first aid and a variety of rescue techniques including water, rope and cliff along with search methods and assisting helicopter operations.
If you think you’ve got what it takes, you must be able to respond at most times, be over 18, live within 15 minutes of one of the above stations and hold a full UK driving licence.
Volunteering will have numerous benefits to you, both personal and professional.
