Children's work to be made into postcards

Nine pupils will have their work featured as part of the Alnmouth Arts Festival postcard competition.

Youngsters at schools across the area were asked to create an image of the iconic coloured houses in Alnmouth in any medium.

The top three at each Key Stage, from 1 to 3, will be professionally printed as postcards and made available to visitors at the festival on June 18 and 19.

In KS1 first place was Ruby Lowery from St Michael’s First School, Alnwick, second was Declan Scally from St Paul’s First, and third was Dylan Snaith, also from St Pauls.

In KS2 first was Matthew Hill from Warkworth First School, second was Toby Renton from Lindisfarne Middle School, Alnwick, and third was David Mitchell from St Paul’s.

And in KS3, first was George Maloney from St Paul’s, second was Ben Renton from Lindisfarne, and third was Joseph Camillers from St Paul’s.

Judges were faced with a difficult task when assessing the large number of entries.

An exhibition of many of the children’s designs will be held in the marquee at Peases Park during the festival. The colourful images will compliment the monochrome poster design for the Alnmouth Arts Festival created by Peter Drew.
