Cheviots ramble for Countryfile appeal

An eight-mile walk was held in the Cheviot foothills to raise money for BBC Countryfile's Children in Need appeal.

People of all ages and fitness levels challenged themselves and enjoyed the amazing local countryside, while raising lots of money, enjoying the beautiful scenery and battling against the strong, head-on winds.

Organiser Karen Balmbro said: “We were not beaten in spirit and everyone started and finished in one piece and we all enjoyed a much-earned buffet at the end. The final figure is yet to be confirmed, we are still receiving donations, but looking like we’re heading for £1,500.”
