THE second Alnmouth Beer Festival has been hailed a success.
The three-day charity event was held from Friday, October 7 to Sunday, October 9 at the village’s Red Lion Inn and featured an array of beers and ciders from across Britain.
It also raised £2,750 for the Shine the Light on Aniridia campaign in aid of Moorfields Eye Hospital.
Organiser Michael Graham was delighted that this year’s event managed to build on the success of 2010’s debut festival.
He said: “It went absolutely brilliantly. It went better than last year and we have had really positive feedback.
“We also managed to increase our donation to charity this year compared to the money we raised for charity at last year’s event.”
Around 500 people attended the festival, which also included live music from Amble band The Range and an auction.
Thanks have been given to everyone who sponsored the drinks, donated auction items and the people who helped put the event together.
Michael added: “The festival is going to be a steadfast annual event and we plan to make next year’s even bigger and better.”
