Angie’s Tavern in Amble was the venue for a domino and pool handicap, an auction, raffle and supper, which raised £1,217 for the Huntington’s Disease Association (HDA).

Lyn Buddle, one of the organisers, said: “It went really, really well. We want to say a big thank-you to everyone, especially Angie because she was amazing.”

The event was part of a fund-raising drive by members and friends of the Kerton family, who have been raising money for the HDA in honour of Barbara Kerton, known as Nicki, who had the disease and died last year.

They have been taking part in the Great North Run to raise money for the charity for five years. In 2014, grandad Ebb, who was married to Nicki, father Stewart and his daughter Ellis, all took part. In 2015, Stewart’s wife Amanda joined the team.
