CHARITY: Lots of roles at Guide Dogs

How would you get to work or take the kids to school? How easy would it be to do the weekly shop? How would you get about if you couldn’t drive?

For people with sight loss these are questions they must ask every day. For many of them, the answer is one of Guide Dogs charity’s life-changing services.

At Guide Dogs we don’t want anyone to be left out of life because of sight loss.

Our renowned guide dogs, My Guide and Children’s and Young People’s services are game-changers, but they all rely on donations from the public, community groups, businesses and gifts in Wills.

This is why fund-raising is key to what we do, and we would like people in Alnwick and the surrounding area to be part of that.

Whatever time you have, we have fun and interesting volunteer roles that will help us to support people all of ages with vision impairment. There are social event roles, collecting box activities and roles to introduce the community to our puppies and dogs.

Our fund-raisers meet new people, learn new skills and have the satisfaction of knowing that what they do will make a difference to people all of ages who are living with sight loss. You would also be part of a friendly and welcoming team who provide training and ongoing support.
