CHARITY: Keep that door closed
I am appalled by the open door policy of the majority of charity shops in the area.
How much of our donated money is being wasted on heating a shop with the door wide open in this cold weather?
It also means that people needing a refuge from the cold weather do not find it. The staff also suffer. I would not want to work in a shop with cold air coming in through the door.
Thank goodness for Oxfam in Alnwick and the quiet refuge of the Lions book shop [next to the White Swan hotel] in Alnwick.
