Charity fund-raiser hits the right notes

Accomplished musician Shiela McQuattie performed an 'easy on the ear classical music concert' at the Blue Bell in Belford. Music included Haydn, Vaughan Williams and a finale of Acker Bilk's 'Stranger on the Shore' by clarinetist Stephen Hewitt.

Fellow musicians Margaret Dudgeon, Frances Orde and Nigel Chambers also joined Shiela to raise £200 for Seahouses Lifeboat station.

Thanks have been given to the Blue Bell hotel for hosting the event and all who contributed generously.

The Blue Bell will host its regular folk music session on Monday.

All musicians are welcome to join in the open mic night event.

It runs from 8pm to 11.30pm and is well attended with around 25 musicians each month.
