Residents and visitors alike can take in the beauty of the north Northumberland coast with a series of guided walks this summer.
The Northumberland Coast Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB) Partnership is once more offering the chance to walk the Northumberland Coast Path this summer with the path originator, Iain Robson.
Each Wednesday between July 17 and August 21, Iain will lead a walk along a section of the path in the company of a coastal expert, maybe a botanist, geologist, ranger or birdwatcher.
The six stages are as follows: Stage 1, July 17, Cresswell to Warkworth, 10.5 miles, five hours. Start at 9.20am at Cresswell Ices to coincide with the arrival of the No 1 service from Ashington.
Stage 2, July 24, Warkworth to Craster, 13 miles, six-and-a-half hours. Start at 9.35am at Warkworth Market Cross to coincide with the arrival of the X18 from Alnwick and Newcastle.
Stage 3, July 31, Craster to Seahouses, 10.5 miles, five-and-a-half hours. Start at 10.35am at Craster Tourist Information Centre to coincide with the arrival of X18 from Alnwick/Newcastle.
Stage 4, August 7, Seahouses to Belford, 10.5miles, five-and-a-half hours. Start at 10am at Seahouses Tourist Information Centre to coincide with the arrival of the Travelsure 418 from Alnwick.
Stage 5, August 14, Belford to Fenwick, seven miles, four hours. Start at 10.30am at Belford Market Cross to coincide with the arrival of the X15 from Alnwick/Newcastle or the Travelsure 418 from the coast.
Stage 6, August 21, Fenwick to Berwick, 12 miles, six hours. Start at 10.35am at Fenwick A1 bus stop to coincide with the arrival of X15 from Alnwick/Newcastle.
The start time for each section coincides with the arrival of a bus and the walks will return to the starting point by bus. The walks are all free, but you will need your bus fare.
