CENTRE: A hub for the community
I would like to object to the decision by the ruling Labour group of Northumberland County Council to close Amble's Dovecote Centre in August, which is the nearest thing Amble has to a community centre.
While Hadston is having an expensive refurbishment of its community centre, why should we lose the Dovecote?
It is the focus for many community-based projects and learning support groups in Amble, and has been an important building for offering training in such things as IT, photography and adult education.
Once again, Amble is missing out.
