Last Sunday, 83 people took part in the Lindisfarne Walk for MND to raise funds and awareness of motor neurone disease.

The group, some with young children in pushchairs and buggies, others with dogs, set off from Beal Sands and walked 3.5 miles across the Lindisfarne causeway to Holy Island.

The walk, which was organised by MND Association, Northumberland Group, has raised more than £3,000 to date with more still to be collected. The walk ended at St Aidan’s Winery, the home of Lindisfarne Mead, with a raffle and tombola raising £420.
