Alnwick Castle and Cragside have both been voted into first place in the LandLove magazine awards.
The magazine focuses on the most interesting places to visit in the British Isles.
Alnwick Castle was voted Britain’s Favourite Castle, while Cragside, near Rothbury, was the voters’ favourite garden.
David Hawke, manager at Alnwick Castle, said: “There can be no doubt that Alnwick Castle is impressive and its history amazing, but this award also recognises the hard work hard our staff put in to make sure our visitors have a great day out. Thank you to everyone who voted.”
Dale Stevens, senior gardener at Cragside, said: “Winning this award is an amazing feeling and it couldn’t have been done without the staff and volunteers for their hard work and commitment to Cragside and the National Trust.”
