NORTHUMBERLAND schools will get additional £3million thanks to Liberal Democrat pupil premium.
Children and Families Minister, Sarah Teather has announced the extra money each school will receive through the Pupil Premium this year – more than originally expected.
In the Berwick constituency, schools will get £518,408 to support children from disadvantaged backgrounds. Across Northumberland, the total is £3,208,000.
Every school in the constituency will now get nearly £500 for every child on Free School Meals.
Sir Alan Beith MP said: “Liberal Democrats have ensured that in Northumberland, schools will receive £3,208,000 as part of the Pupil Premium, including £518,408 for schools in the Berwick constituency.
“This is more than expected and will make an even bigger difference for our children.”
