A NORTH Northumberland caravan site has revealed expansion plans which will provide space for another 30 caravans.
Northumberland Estates has submitted a planning application to extend the existing Apple Inn Caravan Park site at Lucker into neighbouring agricultural land, bringing the total number of pitches to 90.
The new extension site will be operated alongside the current site by Alnwick Castle Cottages, which is the holiday accomodation arm of the Estates.
The new pitches will all be on concrete bases with water, sewage and electricity services while the access from the Lucker to Warenford road will be tarmaced and gravel tracks installed around the site.
The supporting statement submitted with the plans refers to the economic boost of such a development in a hamlet which provides 19 jobs at present.
It states: “The existing Apple Inn Caravan Park in Lucker is now full and experiencing demand for further pitches.
“The proposed extension will meet demand over the next five-10 years and will assist in supporting local services and facilities.”
