Car damaged in Northumberland village

Police are appealing for witnesses after vandals used a sharp instrument to scratch the paintwork of a car which was parked in a Northumberland village, causing hundreds of pounds worth of damage.

The incident happened between 9am and 7.30pm on Friday, January 9, when the vehicle was parked on South View, in Lesbury.

Neighbourhood Inspector Paul Truscott said: “Police inquiries into the incident are ongoing and we’re appealing for anyone who may have any information to contact us.

“Acts of damage like this will not be tolerated and we have extra officers out on patrol in the area.”
