Call goes out for new young firefighters

Northumberland Young Firefighters Association (YFA) is recruiting new cadets across the county.

Run by Northumberland Fire and Rescue Service, the YFA is calling for young people aged 13 to 17 to join their local teams for a chance to try something new.

Wooler Fire Station runs sessions on a Monday nights, Berwick’s is on a Tuesday and Alnwick and Rothbury hold theirs on Thursdays, from 6pm to 8pm, for £2/session.

“Cadets who take part in the sessions have a chance to get involved in some fantastic activities which could help them to develop skills, grow in confidence and start a career. Above all, the Young Firefighters Association is lots of fun and a great way to meet new people.”
