A new programme to support business in Northumberland is being launched with Arch to deliver a £1.3million package to boost the county’s economy.
Arch will deliver the £1.3million programme, which includes match funding of £698,599 received from the England European Regional Development Fund as part of the European Structural and Investment Funds Growth Programme 2014-2020.
This funding will form the Business Northumberland programme, which will focus on meeting the specialised needs of Northumberland businesses and build on previous European-funded projects, including Business Northumberland 2012-15 and iNorthumberland.
It will be delivered using a variety of methods to ensure easy access for businesses across the county.
A series of workshops and events will be held and all participating businesses will have access to the Business Northumberland website, which will host a variety of evolving content and advice directly related to growing and sustaining a company.
Businesses will also have access to one-to-one advice and support delivered by business growth advisers based at Arch, who will work directly with businesses to help them understand their growth needs and implement an action plan.
The main objective is to help businesses across Northumberland grow and prosper, whether it is new, facing challenges, looking to grow or even looking to locate into the county.
Coun Dave Ledger, chairman of Arch, said: “The funding made available from both Europe and Arch will be a great boost to Northumberland’s economy and help to provide support to local businesses and new start-ups.”
The programme will launch in January 2017. For more information, contact Lucy on 01670 528453.
