A draft strategy for sustainable tourism was unveiled last Tuesday at the first Sustainable Tourism Forum.
Organised by the Northumberland Coast Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB) Partnership, it is now asking for comments before the strategy is finalised.
Its purpose is to find ways to reduce the pressure that tourism puts on the unique natural and cultural of the north Northumberland coast while continuing to develop this vital economic sector.
Coun John Woodman, the new chairman of the AONB partnership, said: “The Sustainable Tourism Forum was fantastic and the room fizzed with ideas and energy, which will prove invaluable for driving forward the implementation of the strategy.”
