At their fortnightly store sale, John Swan Ltd had forward and sold 209 store cattle.

In conjunction with the sale was the show for The William Harvey Lindisfarne Goblet kindly sponsored by Alnorthumbria Vets and expertly judged by Richard Mitchell, of Highlaws, Morpeth.

The Championship was awarded to DA Thompson, of Trewhitt Steads, for a Lim.x Steer weighing 370kg and selling at £1090 to Alan Lamont, Dunslaw. Reserve Champion was also awarded to Trewhitt Steads for a Lim.x Heifer weighing 375kg and selling at £900 also to Alan Lamont, Dunslaw.

A smart show of cattle presented to a full ringside of buyers resulting in all classes being very dear, more cattle could be sold to vendors’ advantage at this centre.
