STAFF and volunteers from Northumberland Wildlife Trust have been taking advantage of the recent warm weather by shearing its growing flock of sheep, which in turn is part of the Trust’s Flexigraze conservation grazing project.

More than 160 sheep were sheared at Prestwick Carr, Whittle Dean, Felton and East Chevington over a four-day period.

The fleeces have been sent to the British Wool Marketing Board to be graded and sold through the auction system.

Any money raised will be paid to the wildlife charity to help fund future conservation projects.
