The Institution of Civil Engineers (ICE) is offering members of the public the opportunity to hear about the future of transport in the North East at its 125th-anniversary Prestige Lecture.
The talk will be given by David Brown, chief executive of Transport for the North, who is tasked with improving transport infrastructure and connectivity across the north of England.
ICE’s events are usually only open to its members, but because this Prestige Lecture celebrates the institution being in the region for 125 years and public interest, it has been opened up to the public.
The lecture, from 5.45pm to 9pm on Tuesday, takes place in the Great Hall at Northumbria University’s Sutherland Building. Tickets available from tinyurl.com/jcrzvee
