Celebrating the female form and helping women to feel like goddesses is the philosophy behind a new venture for a science professor turned professional portrait photographer.

Felton-based Paula Ansley has added the art of boudoir photography to her portfolio and is now creating sensuous, celebratory photo shoots under her new Paula Rosa Boudoir brand.

A qualified member of the Society of Wedding and Portrait Photographers, Paula has already built up a loyal customer base with her stunning family, wedding and child portrait photography.

The idea for Paula Rosa Boudoir was sparked when her husband decided to book her a boudoir photography session as a pick-me-up.

Rather than being behind the camera, Paula was the focus of the shoot and, although she admits that she was nervous before the session, she came away with a feeling of both empowerment and confidence as well as secretly proud of herself.

She said: “I was feeling a little glum after moving away from all my friends in the south and unimpressed with my figure after two children and the general shift south of the majority of my body.

“But the experience was transforming, I realised I had a fabulous, curvy, sexy shape and I looked darned good. I had a once-in-a-lifetime experience where I cherished my womanly body and delighted in my curves for a few hours.

“My desire is to provide a similar experience for ladies who need a bit of a confidence boost or just feel like having a rather enjoyable and fun experience all about themselves.”

She says that a Paula Rosa Boudoir shoot provides a unique opportunity for other women to learn to cherish their bodies and delight in their own unique feminine form.

Paula takes the boudoir shots in either the client’s own home or at a specially-chosen luxury venue. A glass of fizz and lots of fun are all part of the relaxing photo shoot.

Paula said: “There is absolutely nothing ‘top shelf’ about Paula Rosa Boudoir photography; it’s a celebration of womanhood of all ages, shapes and sizes.”

As a trained portrait and boudoir photographer, Paula works with her clients to highlight their beauty, resulting in images that she guarantees they treasure.
